Sacraments at St. Owen

Anointing of the Sick: Contact Fr. Mike or the parish office at 248-626-0840 to arrange the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick for yourself or loved one. The Sacrament of the Sick is best received when the person is able to participate and benefit from the special grace which comes through the sacrament.

 

Sacrament of Baptism: Baptisms are usually celebrated on Sundays following the 11am Mass. Families requesting a baptism are expected to have been a registered, participating member of St. Owen for a minimum of three months. Contact Fr. Mike or the parish office.

 

Sacrament of Marriage: Contact Fr. Mike to discuss plans. An individual requesting to be married at St. Owen is expected to be a registered, participating member of St. Owen for a minimum of six months.

 

Sacraments of First Eucharist, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation for baptized children are prepared for within the Religious Formation program. Contact Kathy Susalla Rochon, the Director of Religious Formation at kgsrochon@stowen.org or 248-626-0840.  For school-aged children in need of baptism, please also contact Kathy using the above information.

 

Adults interested in joining the Catholic Church may participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). This program starts in the fall and prepares adults to profess their faith and receive the Sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil Mass. Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on Saturday afternoons from 4 to 4:30p.m. in the Church or any time by appointment. Parish also celebrates Reconciliation in a communal format with Communal Penance Services during Advent and Lent.
