Advent By Candlelight
St. Owen Parish
Our 22nd annual Advent By Candlelight will take place on Wednesday, Dec 3, 2025 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Our speaker presentation will begin in St Owen Church, together with musical selections by our music ministry coordinator, Rob Abbott, and cantor Gracie Zingalie, will be live-streamed (and archived for later viewing from our church website). The women of our parish and guests will then enjoy a festive social gathering in the parish center to support our “Sharing with a Family” program and prepare our hearts for Christmas.
We are so pleased to have guest speaker, Marilyn Kelley, with her topic, “Singing the Unsung Heroines”. Marilyn is a member and past Chair of the Board of Governors at Wayne State University. She is on the Law School faculty where she is the Distinguished Jurist in Residence, and teaches the class "Access to Justice". Marilyn serves on the board of Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester, MI. A longtime teacher and attorney, Marilyn is also a former judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals and past Chief Justice on the MI Supreme Court..
